... the Strength to Endure.

The Strength to Endure

Our ability to endure to the end in righteousness will be in direct proportion to the strength of our testimony and the depth of our conversion.

Sunday - 8 December 2013 in Apan

President and I went to the area of Apan to visit these two Elders that are situated in a very remote area of the mission. We had not had the opportunity to visit and check on their home and to visit the branch in which they are assigned. Elder Sic and Elder Castro are good young men whom President has a lot of trust in overseeing the work in this area. They have a great Branch President and outstanding High-councilman who travels a significant distant every other week to support the members. We attended their meetings in a "House of Prayer" which is a home that has been adjusted to be their "chapel" as appropriate. We were very impressed! It was so cold last Sunday- and of course no buildings or homes have heat or cooling in them so I was a frozen Popsicle by the time I got home. These Elders' home was "Freezing", too. When I asked them if they had a heater they said it wasn't working. Needless to say that went to the top of the "get'r done list!" These Elders never complained and would have never said a thing had I not visited and asked. Their house was absolutely spotless and in perfect order. I love these Elders for their attention to detail- and of course those smiles... they don't get any cuter!

In "The House of Prayer" they added a little baptismal font and I couldn't but help share this with you. When they have their next baptism they promised they would invite us... so I'll update you on that event. Also notice above how the door to the Elders home is all glass and so they creatively applied pictures all down the glass door! Who needs a curtain or blind?

Girls Road Trip

Tuesday Sister Ramos (Office couple) and I drove by ourselves (yep we felt all big!) to Apan to deliver two new portable heaters to Elder Sic and Elder Castro (left & middle)- and on our way we stopped to visit Elder Mijangos and Elder Sims (right) who needed the weed eater to trim their front yard since their goat died ! Just kidding.. but they could use a goat.   I was so impressed with their white Christmas Tree. They mentioned they found it stored in their house and so they decorated it, put little presents around the bottom and hung up their stockings. Elder Mijangos will fly home on Wednesday (18th Dec) as his mission comes to an end. He has been such an amazing trainer to Elder Sims for the last 11 weeks. I suspect there might be a few tears in that departure.

Dear President Egbert,

This was a crazy week, starting out with divisions and then getting sick right afterwards put a big dent in our plans for success, but I did have moment that I really want to share.

One day my companion had a stress attack witch left him feeling hopeless and wanting to cry. He couldn't concentrate and I knew that with him feeling like this, he definitely wasn't feeling the spirit. There's a scripture in D&C that states that if we know that the Holy Ghost is not with us, then we mustn't teach. I felt stuck, and I knew that I had to think of something to help my companion.

I prayed and then waited for an answer. I got a little upset when after 5 minutes I still was at a loss of what direction to take. Normally when I am feeling hopeless I like to work, that's what I learned when I was with Elder Duran ( I'm still super greatful for him by the way. Thanks a Ton!), but I didn't feel like that was what Elder _______ needed. I sat a while longer, now not only pondering over what to do, but also wondering what was impeding my revelation.

It wasn't long before my thoughts turned to the state of our house and how messy it was. Not exactly pigsty, but still, I wouldn't feel proud if Hermana Egbert came to check on it. I thought of how the disorganized dirtiness made me feel equally disorganized and dirty. In this moment the static cleared and I felt a confirmation on what we should do: We were going to clean the despair out of our house.

So that's what we did. We cleaned, and cleaned and cleaned until the house sparkled. We reorganized the rooms, we threw away a plethora of unnecessary things and made the house ours. A temple for the spirit to reside in. The best part is that it also worked in raising our spirits. I think in a big part it was because for the first time since I've been here, we could see the fruits of our efforts. Its quite easy to get disparaged in the long haul, when even when it's certain that good things will come to pass, the chances of actually enjoying the outcome is not going to be something that is enjoyed by the laborer. Our area is a lot like that. I know that what we're doing here is good, but the treasure is still a long ways off and its easy to feel like we're digging for nothing. With this deep clean project, the work was hard, messy, and sometimes difficult, but the results were there, easy to be seen and enjoyed.

My personal favorite part was that I helped- and not in a way that I had yet felt. I needed to help my companion. I needed the help of the lord. I was able to fulfill both of these. Honestly the answer felt a bit unorthodox, but it worked. That I was able to take lead and be a servant to my companion in improving his mood made me feel so much more capable.

Until next week,
Elder B

Wednesday District Meeting in Huachinango

President and I went to Huachinango and Xicotepec to visit our Elders in this area. It sits very remote and the trip was extra long as the traffic was intense on the mostly two lane road where people were having "Pilgrimages" celebrating the "Mother Mary"... People running relay style along side the road carrying torches to a Virgin Mary statue that sits in this remote area. The tallest one of her in the country from our understanding.

The Elders are so attentive & involved in district meeting...

This district of six Elders is the most amazing group. We were so touched by the spirit of the meeting under Elder Barrios' direction. What powerful spirits these six young men have; a certain unquestionable loyalty and obedience to this cause. We acknowledge the role they each play in their areas of the mission and are so grateful for the three trainers who are doing an incredible job teaching these three new Elders. After the meeting we went on a home tour.

(Below) Elder Beesley and Elder Rivera have a perfect upstairs apartment next to a bakery. It smelled delicious and reminded me of my grandmas homemade bread. I said "How is waking up to that smell every morning?"   We have some areas where the sewer smell is so strong because of poor drainage that this was a welcome and pleasant tour! The Elders had their home in perfect order and of course now we see where the three boxes mailed to Elder Beesley went. He has the most supportive family and was so kind to include his companion.

Thanks parents for sending those much anticipated boxes....

Home away from Home

We were pleasantly impressed with the degree of "order" in this cute house. The organization and cleanliness receives mention and I can't help love the little tree they got for their home. There happened to be a box of lights in my car bouncing around (divine intervention) and so they were excited to decorate with those to add to the holiday spirit. What an amazing companionship these two are and I am so impressed with the level of power and confidence that Elder Ferrin speaks with in Spanish. It will be only five weeks this week that he has been in country. Hats off to Elder Ferrin and to his companion Elder Barrios because behind every successful Elder usually is a supportive and disciplined companion.

Burnt Offerings!

I know that President and I will tease Elder Segura about his recent house fire our entire mission and probably there after.... we were anxious to see their new home where they just moved. It is not very big, but perfect for two Elders. This residence looked safe and in order. I had to a laugh when I saw the fridge and microwave...  on the outside the plastic casings to both had melted severely because of the intense heat of their other home fire. I'm so grateful no one was hurt... and that the only reminder is the melted appliances. So when I text them this weekend to see if they needed another table for their pamphlets and books they said "yes", and then President commented, "Tell them not to place the pamphlets near an outlet!" (Because that's where the last fire started) and this is the hilarious response I got back in text from these two Elders. "

"President says to keep the pamphlets away from the outlet! Bahaaaa!!"

"Well golly! You tell President that I said thanks for crushing my soul! Sometimes we teach with so much power and authority, that the spirit just starts setting a blaze our surroundings."

 LOVE THEIR SENSE OF HUMOR

We have had several parents make and send these cutest Christmas Tree's with family pictures for the ornaments. So creative ... (CAUTION- Not so good for the homesick Elders though)... this tree specifically had ornaments of all his cousins who are currently serving missions. Actually inspiring for these Elders knowing they aren't alone in the "Work of Salvation" and of being away from their families over the holidays. Thanks to the wonderful parents of our missionaries for your efforts. They love you and miss you...but they know how proud you are of them!

Hello President,

This week was definitely one of my most memorable weeks, for so many things that happened and the experiences that we enjoyed. First of all, I love getting to know the elders in our zone. We had divisions with Elders ______ and Elder _____. I had the chance to be with Elder ____. They both are fantastic elders, and really contribute so much to their district and the zone. Elder _____ is doing great. He is teaching well, and from what I saw, has great relations with the members and their investigators. His studies are also great. He has a way of pulling things out of the scriptures and applying them in a manner that Ive only seen rarely with other elders in my mission. As I think back, if I were in his shoes at that point in my mission, I wouldnt have been able to pull out what he is learning. We love those two tons!
Secondly, the chance to go to leadership council and to give my first zone training. I spoke a lot with my companion about what I learned, and the blocks and walls that I was able to pull down, or at least to get started at it. In my mission, and I would think its the same for many missionaries, I always have seen the leaders as 'more than human/missionary'. Having the responsibility of being one now, I really see that that isnt the truth. They are great, but arent perfect. They do many things well, but at the same time, have so much to improve. I guess what I want to get at is that, with the Lord's help, anyone can reach their potencial in the mission and in life, and I dont mean in being a leader. We are normal, but are blessed to be able to help a little bit more with those around us. That was a great principle that I learned there.

While working in our area this week, we passed a mother in the street, and her 3 children. I felt that she was different, and that we should speak to her, and afterwards, talking to my companion, he said he felt the same. I am ashamed to say that I didnt do anything about it. But how prepared the people are here! After walking about 10 feet, we hear the call of 'señor' from one of her children. We backtracked and started talking to her. She told us that she has been looking for a while for the church that really feels right, and something that can truly help her. We felt such a strong spirit from her, and are excited for the appointment that we have with her this week. I know that the Lord has prepared the people of Mexico, maybe more than any other place. This week, Im going to try harder to follow and seek the Spirit, in every situation that I can.

Thanks for everything President,
Elder C

Tulancingo District Class

Our wonderful assistants took two days and spent in this zone visiting their district meeting and studying for two mornings with different companionship's. They had lots of great comments and compliments regarding this specific group.

(Below) This is the home of the Tulancingo Zone Leaders.

I love the accent wall in red! The only help these Elders need is to the front door. They have such a big gap under their front door that little critters come visit... or big (rats) on a daily basis. This jumped second on the "Get'r fixed list" of mine. Check out their exercise corner... LOVE it!

_____________________________________

Elder Cachique and Elder Cruz look sharp in their missionary attire. To their defense they didn't get a heads up about pictures... because guess who didn't make their beds? They were good sports and promised this P-Day to get their home in tip top shape for me to come visit. Thanks Elders....

______________________________________________

So funny story:

I realized that I couldn't get a response back from two of our Elders (not pictured) in Tulancingo. After some research I discovered that their phone had been stolen and so I felt an urgency to get a phone to them as they live quiet a ways out; but are also district leaders. I retrieved another phone from Elder Campuzano (Visa Secretary) who actually gave up his phone voluntarily because a batch of phones wouldn't be in for one more week- that is how our Elders roll around here! They sacrifice for each other.... you would never understand unless you witnessed it yourself. Anyways, I didn't know where these specific Elders lived and couldn't of course talk with them (no phone), so I called neighboring Elders who agreed to be my guide. When I picked up Elder Iverson and Elder Pena they were concerned as they had only been to the house on one occasion and thought they knew where they lived but then again didn't know for sure. With faith in our pocket and a prayer in our heart we searched and searched. When we finally located the home... of course the Elders were gone working like they should have been. We had missed our window of opportunity to catch them... but, never fear! These two Elders got the cell phone to slide under the door with two copies of the conference Ensign and the charger they were able to fit through the slot pictured. Elder Iverson commented, "I just hope they don't step on the cell phone tonight coming through the door and break it !"

I never tire of seeing our good Elders through the mission going about their work with a smile on their face... even when I know how difficult it can be most days. This mission adventure is NOT for the weak of heart!

Elder Vazquez/Elder Hixon excited about their ward Christmas Party where they had four investigating families in attendance. (Left)

And (Right) Elder Macias/Elder Barber dressed for a painting service project. Elder Barber stated by the time the mission was over they should be mere professional painters.

I know it to be true...

"I Know It To Be True..."

Not very often do I take the opportunity to publicly share my feelings... simply my emotions run to close to the surface and tears seem to seep out when least appropriate. That being said- I simply want to state for the record that, "I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. That he did translate the Book of Mormon. That he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son. I know the Work of Salvation involves us all- and I know I can do my small part here in Pachuca Mexico. I know Heavenly Father knows you and he knows me- and he cares about each of our missionaries specifically. I know His hand is involved in the work here in Pachuca on a daily basis; I have witnessed it myself. I know that prayer can be a powerful life line when we need His help or just want to offer a prayer of gratitude. I know I am blessed. This I testify of ...."

At the Tecamac Stake Conference last Saturday and Sunday we had the privilege of watching this young girl play the electric key board (piano) for the Stake Conference congregation and choir. What was so impressive was how confident and brave she was... we have several Elders through the mission and one in this particular area that is trying to expand his skills of playing the piano so that he can assist his specific ward who has no pianist. His comment included "I wished I would have taken advantage of piano lessons when I was young".... and " Oh -when our ward sings it can be rather painful". He has a simplified hymn book that I happened to bring from home and he is feverishly practicing on this keyboard every chance he gets. We are so grateful for the handful of Elders who know how, or are working on learning how to play the piano.

We applaud their efforts and talents.

Elder Esteves and Elder Leon looking handsome for Stake Conference ...

It was just for fun before they left for the meetings. These masks are very popular in Mexico and are actually used in wrestling attire. I value their sense of humor- the mission is meant to be fun and at the same time rewarding while building work ethic, testimonies, levels of maturity, self confidence, and love for others.

Mondays are P-Days

This group of Elders that live close to the area went to see the pyramids. It was a beautiful day with a fun group of "brothers" to share in the fun. Look how sharp they look in their missionary attire even on P-Days! Always a representative of the Savior Jesus Christ.

Proud to call them our "Stripling Warriors of Pachuca".

____________________________________________________

And...... yes these are our Stripling Warriors on Ice!

Pachuca just installed a mini ice rink in the center of town and it was free on Monday so they went to do a quality control check. Yes, when I asked them where their helmets and body armor were they said they forgot it at home. Luckily no broken bones only lots of fun, giggles, and a few bruises. I'm sure the spectators were impressed with the natural talents of our Elders. You have witnessed  Olympic lifts, spins, twirls, the "Choo-choo train" line and when some let go of the side railing Olympic speed skating captured on camera! Yes they only send the most talented to the Mexico Pachuca Mission.

Happy Holidays to Everyone at Home...

On occasion we have sick ones that work until they give out and then collapse...

Hermana Cebreros was being "Super Woman". Finally after a days work her companions towed her home and called me for assistance. She had not felt good for 3 days... I delivered some antibiotic and the next day a sweet sister from their ward stayed with her while the other two worked in their area and the day after that she was back on her feet!

These girls never complain or whine.... they put the rest of us to shame.

(That couch is enough to make your back and neck hurt even if the rest of you felt fine!)

Mission Leadership Council

This is held monthly in our home for all the Zone Leaders and Sister Leader Trainers. We eat breakfast at 830 and have training from 9:00 -2:30 pm. Then we eat lunch and everyone heads back to their zones where the following day they teach and train the missionaries in their zones. All the power points, videos and agendas are downloaded on each Zones USB drive to assist them in their own training. We have the most marvelous Zone Leaders and Sister Leader Trainers who are catching the vision of what President Egbert see's for Mexico Pachuca.

I'm never at a loss for help in the kitchen... These three had the cinnamon french toast and sausages with warm maple syrup down pat. It was a hit and I think Elder Oliver holds the record for twelve french toast!  I just love these kids... warms my heart in real life and then again to see them in pictures.

At mid training break they had a holiday snack of Ritz Crackers, Cheese cubes and salami thinly sliced with Cran-grape juice. Yum!

For lunch we had spaghetti, cheese bread, green salad, corn, and "Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake". And for the trip home on the bus they got a snack of banana bread...

I don't think it made it for breakfast in the morning.

Hola Presidente.

If you ever need to smile you just have to see or talk with Elder Katich and Elder Esteves!

I love love their matching sweaters and that looks delish on the table!

Also... I think if the mission allowed "PETS" Elder Katich would sneak "Cappuchino" home.

Happy December President Egbert!

I once heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Upon remembering this phrase a few days ago I realized something very important: I felt like I was going insane trying to work in the area. Applying the saying to myself I realized that if I am going to be a successful missionary here, I need to do something different.

First thing that I have noticed is how much of a whiner I've been, especially in my time here in _____. Yes, it's a hard area, but is harder with a bad attitude. I need to start thinking more positively.

Second, I have been giving up too easy. Work is the answer to almost all problems. Sure- a day doesn't go my way. This just means that I have to think on my feet in who to visit, and learn from my mistakes, planning for a better tomorrow.

Third, I can be the change this area needs if I can be honest with myself and perfect my weaknesses. A less than 100% missionary will not get the 100% results he wants.

Fourth, I need to get better at verifying with everyone. Good fruit can't be harvested if the plants are left to themselves.

Your letters are important and not to be taken for granted. I'm going to start reporting in these letters how I have utilized the letter in my week. Sorry for being too dense to realize the gift in my face.

I want to be better. I have the desire. now I need the goals. I'm working on them right now.

Love EB

I apologize as the picture (above left) is blurry but this is the Elders after district mtg in the Tulancingo Zone. This district is in a very far away and remote area from us. Oh how we trust and love these kids ... I wanted to show you their two story church building that will be unique looking to many back at home.
(Above right) is the picture of last weekends baptism of Elder Barrios and Elder Ferrin's (One of our amazing new elders) new convert who is a seasoned young #70 years old.

Aren't we a little happy about moving? This new residence will suit their needs so much better, I'm just sorry Elder Arnett went home before he could enjoy the nice change. A member of the ward lives next door and is renting this to our Elders. He just put in the new window (above) the day before and was finishing the tile work as I took a tour. He is going to paint the upstairs ("headquarters") this weekend and they should be all set. I will return in one week or so for the official home tour and to share pictures of the inside. Construction while living in the same space doesn't portray the full potential so a picture of them at the front door was only fair. Great job Elders!

SERVICE is GOOD for the SOUL

Ward Activity sponsored by the Missionaries It was a great and successful activity with about #70 in attendance. The good bishop (above right) is so good to our Elders- we love him.

____________________________________________________________

I can't help but share this beautiful photo of our recent assistant in the mission Elder Dove who is back home in Utah and sent us this picture of him on Thanksgiving morning out on the patio reading the Book of Mormon daily like he did in the Mission. So proud of you Elder Dove.

When the Missionaries return home after completing their call they commit to President the following items... signed by them and President the night before they fly home. President got the basis of this idea from a Mission President serving in Japan when President Egbert was serving as a Stake President.

Would any of these help you as you set goals for the upcoming 2014?

  • I will daily rejoice in prayer to my Heavenly Father. I will always pray for blessings and guidance. I will always give thanks for the miracles and tender mercies in my life.
  • I will search the scriptures daily and will always maintain my love for them.
  • I will spiritually renew myself each week and I will keep the Sabbath Day holy through attending sacrament meeting and participating in the sacrament worthily.
  • I will always have a calling and I will always magnify it. If I find myself without a calling I will go to my bishop and ask for a calling.
  • I will always have a current temple recommend and I will attend the temple regularly. The first six months of returning home from my mission I will attend the temple a minimum of two times each month.
  • I will dedicate myself to a life of service. I will be first to offer my service whenever an opportunity presents itself. I will magnify my duty as a home teacher/ visiting teacher.
  • I will diligently strive to keep myself pure and virtuous. Specifically, I will avoid pornography as if it were a lethal plague.
  • I will always pay an honest tithe and generous fast offering.
  • I will be a missionary for life! I will NEVER be an "ex-misionero". I will pray for and seek out missionary experiences daily. I will for my entire life strive to support and help the converts and the companions that I had during my service in the Mexico Pachuca Mission.
  • I will actively seek for an eternal companion. This means that I will live worthily so that I am guided by the Spirit. I will go where worthy members go, I will do what worthy members do, and I will ask for the guidance of the Holy Ghost to assist me in finding my eternal companion.
As I fulfill these 10 Commitments, I know that I will always be able to say "Yes" to the question Alma posed, "Can ye feel so now?" Alma 5:26

...the only true change agent.

Ask for His Help

"The Savior entreats us to come unto him. He wants us to come close to him. He wants us to have increasingly repeated interactions with him and to really get to know him...
As we increase our interactions with the Savior- as we really come unto him- we can become like him.... We will increase in our ability to see more like him, to love more like him, and to be more like him."

Although our Lord Jesus Christ never changes, he is the quintessential change agent- the only true change agent. Don't you love that seeming irony: the only true change agent never changes! There is only one true and living change agent- and he changes not. And he loves you. And he loves your desire and your efforts to change. He is your Savior and my Savior! We need to actively, persistently plead for the power of his infinite and atoning sacrifice to be applied in our lives. And as we do so, his ultimate healing will bring to each of our lives the ultimate change.

I love visiting the Elders through out the mission.. and as I get braver to drive here and there and make it safely back home my confidence grows. These amazing Elders needed a few essentials and were so grateful for the simplest of items. This was on Monday morning - Elder Jacobson and Elder De Leon(left)were already cleaning up a storm with their mop and toilet cleaner at 7:15 am. So proud of them. Elder Ajpop and Elder Lancaster (right) were ready for an appointment...so glad I made it there before 1000 am.

__________________________________________________________________

Our Tecamac II -Zone Leaders Elder Hirst and Elder Gallegos live in the cutest neighborhood especially for the area. I was happily surprised. I couldn't find their house so had to finally drop my pride and call them to come meet me at a local supermarket that I could locate. They took a taxi and met me there and then escorted me back to their darling home. I dropped pouch for their zone and a case of Book of Mormons. Also a fun birthday box for Elder Hirst whose birthday was Friday. I had an extra dish drainer for their cute abode and they were so excited. I love the efforts of these Elders because they make their place a home away from home and take such nice care of what they do have. Also they are so gracious and always treat me with such love and respect. I couldn't ask for anything more...

_______________________________________________________________

After making my rounds to two areas of the mission I returned to the mission office at 1030 and found these darling little elves enjoying the holiday spirit as Sister Ramos decorated the tree and President Egbert was doing special interviews. Thanksgiving isn't celebrated here in Mexico (who knew?) so we jump right to the Spirit of Christmas. They dressed Elder Loayza in a tree skirt and the message we are sending to everyone at home. Also note the boxes that arrived - #14 holiday boxes for missionaries.... I was so excited. The majority will be distributed all over the mission on Thursday when zone and district leaders come in for Leadership Training.

Monday is P-Day and that means "PREPARATION DAY" and these guys are working it perfectly. Helping each other hang up curtain rods and then taking time for a little "siesta" ... though I think Elder Katich and Elder Rogel are playing "possum"...

Can't help but love their fun personalities!

With permission I share letters occasionally from the Weekly Mailbox to President-
They strengthen my faith and hopefully yours....

President Egbert,
This has been an absolutely fantastic week! This week has been a pretty big "back hand to the face," but in a humbling and gratifying sort of way. We have had a lot of challenges with the people and the way they treat us. I don't think that I have ever felt more hated in my life, but I have never felt like I have loved others more in my life! For me, that really is something special. All the credit goes to the Lord. He has heard and answered our prayers and helped us in every aspect of what we do here. The more I strive to forget myself and get out of his way, the more we are really starting to see the work the way he intended it to be. Including all the baptisms, confirmations, spiritual experiences, miracles, etc that I have seen in the mission, I still would say without a doubt that the most gratifying part of my mission has been helping the members of this ward catch the vision and excitement of each doing their part of the Work of Salvation. I have never been more excited or felt more in place and needed than I do here in this area.
This week we were sporting 7 baptismal dates heading into Sunday. We worked ourselves into the ground to obtain that and ended the week with about 45 lessons taught and about 25 of those with members. (These people are absolute CHAMPIONS by the way. They are out there with us on the front lines contacting, knocking doors, and visiting friends and family, teaching, preaching and testifying.) As we visited all of our investigators to verify that they were going to make it to church Sunday, about 6 out of 7 said they weren't going to show.
Instead of becoming discouraged and slacking off, we decided to kick it up a notch. We fasted and prayed and studied for our investigators the whole week and begged heavenly father to provide a way for them to keep progressing. As I sat there at the piano during sacrament meeting, I played, "How Great Thou Art," as I watched every one of our investigators enter and partake of the sacrament. How great He is!! While I know he honors and respects our agency, my testimony grew so much that he is so willing to do whatever he can, with his arms, "outstretched continually," to help us on our way home.
My testimony for the week is Moses 1:37. Simple but powerful. All he does, no matter how we may see or accept it, is for our eternal benefit. As I watch these amazing investigators progress I see their challenges, weaknesses, and doubts, and through it all the mercy of the Lord has lifted them. I am trying to be kind, and am glad that God is kind. As Elder Holland says, it is a happy way to live. Who would have thought that loving people that throw fruit at us, push us, and spit on us would make us so happy :) The Lord is truly changing me.
Training is teaching me so much. My companion has been such a blessing in my life and I have learned so much from him. We are holding these people to a new standard and striving to see them as they can become, and they are rising up to the challenge and progressing and being a part of the best thing I have ever done or will ever do with my life.
As I think back about our interview when I wanted to go home, there is no shame or sorrow. Just gratitude. The change the Lord has made in me is such a miracle. I know I owe everything to him and will never look back. I testify that he can make so much more of us than we can of ourselves. I love you president. Know that you have helped me become what the Lord needs me to be. I will always be grateful for that.
Wishing the best for you and your wife, and sending love from out here in .......
Elder XXXX

Pachuca Sur Zone Conference- Tuesday

This is the last of this cycle of Zone Conferences... The zone leaders did an excellent job and had a great variety of teaching- using video exerts which were very meaningful. They also set up the lunch to be served which was very tasty. Thanks Elder Christensen and Elder Almaraz for your efforts. Job well done!

Wednesday "Catch up" This was a busy day at the office for President and I as we worked on administrative items. I worked on medical billing all day and made a small dent... President worked on emails, had special interviews, wrapped up the training with the assistants for Thursday Leadership Training, tried to locate a new tire for our little car and then wrapped up with an Interview by the Area Seventy Elder Mendoza. Before we knew- it was 800 pm and we were ready to head for home.

Leadership Training for All Zone and District Leaders -Thursday

We had this training for 2.5 hours from 10-12:30 pm and they all arrived at the church next to the Mission Office. They were instructed by the Assistants Elder Loza and Elder Ceballos and President Egbert. These leaders carry additional responsibilities as they care for the missionaries in their assigned areas. They teach and support on a continuous basis and are always serving as the example. So their level of worth ethic, obedience, and Integrity has to be exact. I love how when President was talking they were all attentively taking notes and quiet as little mice.

Faces of our Happy Leaders.....

Look I got "Mail"... I'm so excited!

It was the most heart felt, sincere and touching note from an Elder here in our mission expressing his love and gratitude for me as his "Mission Mom" and his love for President. It totally touched my heart and filled my bucket... I was teary the whole way home as I read it... I love these Missionaries more than words can describe and consider each one a member of our family forever.

I love this picture because this shows exactly how good our Elders are. I asked Elder Christensen "Are you breaking into your Christmas box?"  He replied,"No this is my Thanksgiving Box and because its Thanksgiving at home today I'm sharing it with everyone."  I witnessed him passing out treats to a bunch of his missionary buddies who were so excited... It touched my heart that he was so unselfish with his box when I know how valuable it is to them when they receive a box from home.
