....So this week was a pretty good week for me, I am
starting to get the hang of things; the area, my companion, how we do things,
etc. I still have my ups and downs but I am doing a lot better! Thanks for your
council every week, it is exactly what I need to hear every week. This week I
had a pretty cool experience during the 12 semanas portion of our study. We
were practicing the part about teach people not lessons and Elder X and I did a
role play where I had to ask inspired questions. It was hard at first because
it was a role play but then during I could start to feel the spirit so strong
and I just started busting out all of these quesions that I would have never
have thought to say. It was so cool. I could feel the spirit so strong! And
during the week I tried to apply this practice and not every lesson I could do
it but when I did it was so awesome!....

It is Worth Smiling about...
......Algo más que me di cuenta es la importancia de la
mentalidad hacia la obra. Siento que estaba haciendo todo físicamente, pero me
faltaba la mentalidad. Eso es algo que aprendí antes mi misión y falté de
aplicar. Es algo en que estoy tratando a ayudar mi compañero también. Le dije
que tiene que tener más confianza en si mismo y en la confianza que El Salvador
tiene en él. Al lado de nuestro espejo en nuestra habitación, pegué una hoja
con estas palabras, "Los únicos límites que existen, son los que nosotros
mismos nos imponemos". Estamos trabajando mucho en cambiando la obra en
nuestras mentes. Ahora me gustaría vincular el acto de pedir y el cambio de
mentalidad con una experiencia :
Esta semana tuve menos lecciones que en toda mi misión -
29. Sentí mal, pero también sacrificamos mucho tiempo sirviendo en lugar de
tener una lección. Realmente no hay excusas. Pero Sábado en la mañana antes de
salir, nos arrodillamos y hice la oración. En la oración sentí la necesidad de
pedir por algo específico. "Padre, ayúdenos encontrar alguien hoy. De
hecho, no solo alguien - queremos encontrar una familia. Una familia humilde.
Una familia que nos necesita y te necesita. Auméntenos la fe Padre."
Cuando acabamos la oración sentí algo diferente. Sentí lleno de fe. Lleno de esperanza
y confianza que Él iba a cumplir con nuestro convenio y petición. Salimos de la
casa con fuego en los huesos, buscando aquella familia que pedimos. A las 7 de
la noche, visitamos una referencia en una estética. Una mamá soltera se llama
Yolanda y sus 3 hijos. En la oración para empezar, pensé en la oración en la
mañana. Les invitamos a bautizarse y acompañarnos a la capilla y tuvimos 4
nuevas fechas este domingo. El Salvador quiere ayudarnos tanto - solo tenemos
que ganar su confianza con nuestras acciones, pedir, y ser paciente y diligente
en el tiempo de espera. Sé que esta es Su obra. "La fe y la dude no pueden
vivir en el mismo tiempo." Esta semana aprendí y progresé como elder,
compañero, y hijo de Dios.

.....en esta semana también pude percatar que al enseñar
alas personas realmente no saben quien es dios ni como es el ayudarles a que
entiendan la verdadera existencia de dios me ayuda también a mi a conocerle mas
el estudiar en cuanto ala trinidad para ellos y que sus dudas queden resueltas
es maravillosos testificar de las cosas que son verdaderas da otro énfasis en
las lecciones por que las personas pueden comprender mas en cuanto a quien es
nuestro padre celestial , Jesucristo y el espíritu santo , el tan solo hablar
del primer articulo d efe engloba muchas cosas y es extenso cuando surgen mas y
mas preguntas pero enseñar lo básico primordial mente para que entiendan el
significado y el concepto ayuda a ellos a entender y yo también puedo aprender
mas acerca del plan de salvación y que se centra en Jesucristo y que el padre
nos manda el espíritu santo para que more en nosotros, no tengo ninguna duda en
mi corazón que el éxito vendrá cuando tenemos el espíritu y lo tomamos en
cuenta y no lo omitimos y nos dejamos influenciar por el en todo momento y al
tomar decisiones recordando la cita del elder benson una obra sin espíritu es
una obra de hombres, al estudiare en alma 21:16 dice iban por donde quiera que
los guiaban el espíritu del señor el prestar atención a sus susurro a esa voz
apacible que nos guía me esfuerzo por ser mas obediente a los mandamientos del
señor continuamente viviendo de acuerdo a sus principio defendiendo la verdad y
se que al hacerlo el me brinda fortaleza espiritual e inspiración y se que
tendré la capacidad de disfrutar del don del espíritu un don divino que el
padre me a dado , si claro hay momento en los que puedo percibir mientras
estamos en una lección enseñando o hablando con la gente donde comenzara una
discucion o una contención pero en ese momento recuerdo la escritura de 3 nefi
11:29 y se que si hay contención el espíritu se aleja y no testifica y no se
puede enseñar sin el por eso continuamente me esfuerzo por que el me enseñe y
me guíe por que el enseña todas las cosas que debo hacer....

Dear President,
I hope this letter is better than the last ones. But this
week was awesome! The work is going great! This week I really saw the gift of
tongues! In two lessons I started to testify and both times I talked, IN
SPANISH, and bore my testimony. In both instances the investigators and the
members present all had tears in their eyes. The spirit was so strong, and
this week the language has been a lot easier! In our zone training i learned
a lot about receiving revelation through my personal prayers, and that is something
I am going to work on more now. I really want to be able to have this gift
always. Now a chiste... ja yesterday at lunch with a family from the ward, the
Father jokingly challenged me to who could eat more spicy foods. Now it wasn't a
real competition, but we both ate these peppers.... and it was the hottest
thing I have ever eaten, and it was to break my fast! I didn't show the pain,
but I think Elder Ponce noticed me sweating.... But I'm fine from the
experience, but will not eat one of those ever again! Thank you for the
opportunity to be serving here. I love every second!

Learning to LOVE the People all starts with SERVICE...

....Something interesting that happened on Saturday is
that we were in the combi at night on the way to our last appointment and only
had nine contacts. I decided to contact a woman, but she got out of the combi
right as I pulled out a card. So I promised myself (and said a quick prayer to
promise to God and seal the deal) that I would contact the next person to sit
in her place. Soon, a man sat down, so I contacted him. He seemed really
interested, and also lives within our area! He accepted an appointment for this Thursday, so we'll see what happens. But it was really great. Then, as we were
about to get out of the combi and I was trying to pay, the driver insisted that
we didn't pay. We asked why and tried again to pay him, and he explained that
he is a member of the church! It was a cool little reminder that when we obey
completely and really try to do all we can, things work together for our
good....

It's so fun to keep up with everything that happens in the Pachuca mission. That zone activity looks like they had a blast! And I loved seeing my missionary there with your cute grandsons. Thank you, President and Sister Egbert, for every single effort you put forth for all of our sons and daughters there.
