13 March 2016- "The mission... a preparation for eternity"

"Your mission is preparation. It is your school for eternity....This mission is not just a two-year stretch. This is the time when you cultivate the seeds of godhood so you can help other people on their way towards exaltation. How small are we who think of the mission as just being a stretch of time, some physical things to do, a little studying to do, some praying. This is the most purposeful thing, perhaps, you have ever done in your life and possibly the most purposeful thing some of you will ever do. It's up to you to let this be the prelude to your life, to let it be the beginning of a great and glorious life."
- President Spencer W Kimball

Both of their children are serving currently in the Mision Mexico Pachuca.

......So like I put in my well being report is that this week I feel like I have really learned how to have a stronger relationship with my Father in Heaven. I think it's because I have been a little more stressed or at least just having to worry about a few more things but when I went to kneel down every night to pray to my Father in Heaven I could really just pour out all of the feelings of my heart and beg for the help that I would need that next day and to bless our district and each one of our investigators. It feels good to have a better relationship with God. I feel like that is one of the steps in changing into the 4th missionary. Thank you so much for sending that to us. That helped me a ton personally and I know the District as well. I look forward to changing into that fourth missionary, I know it will take some time to do that but I know it's possible. Like it says I just need to believe in myself and that God can help me reach my potential. Thank you President for helping and worrying so much about all of us reaching our potential......

Practices- Practices- Practices

Dear President,

Wow can you believe it's march? I can't. It's so crazy!! Well this week was a lot better! Not that the other weeks were bad.....they just werent super great. I have really learned more about pressing forward. That we just have to keep going even when life throws some obstacles in your way. It's like Lot's wife. The only command was not to look back. But, for some reason, she looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. We probably won't turn into a pillar of salt if we figuratively "look back" but it will hold us back from our progression. We all have hard times. We all make mistakes that we never want to happen again. But we need to let the past go. Accept what has happened, what is currently happening and move forward. Keep your eyes focused on Christ. Keep your thoughts and actions focused in Him. He is the one that will help you most to grow. He will help you see your potential.I have a firm testimony is this. As is says in Moroni 10:32

"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God"

That was my spiritual ah-ha moment. We have found more investigators this week. And more that accepted the invitation to be baptized with a specific date. The Lord will not let us down. A new investigator went to church with us too! he even brought his friend! Talk about missionary work haha. It was stake conference and that was great. Some super awesome talks and the spirit is always so strong when we are gathered together to listen to the same message of the gospel. We are just working hard every day. We just want to do what the Lord expects of us :) I really love my companion and there are no problems there. We are leaning more and more each day how to have more unity. There will always be something new to learn everyday, and every week. Thank you for all you do for us and for me! Have a great week!!

Love
Hermana C

Weekly English Exams Completed just like that! NICE JOB!

Querido Presidente Egbert,

Elder G

(Copy of an Elders letter home to his family...)
Hola from Tecámec. We are doing great down here. This area is the bomb. We have gotten quite a bit of work done and still have quite a bit to do. My companion is frickin awesome. He is from my generacion (he went to the ccm with me) and he is one powerful missionary. God has given him quite a few gifts, one of which is a photografic memory. With every question that an investigator asks, he has 5 or 10 scriptures that can answer it.  He says he has read the old testament one time, but he is able to pull out quite a few scriptures from it that I wouldnt have imagined existed. It has helped the work to progress quite a bit here.

I am losing pants left and right, strewn by the wayside (its a weird,  but I like it).  as I was biking, a dog (for some reason ignoring my companion) came and started to try to bite me. I tried ignored it, but it got a hold of my pant leg and wouldnt let go. I probably dragged that creature 10 or 15 meters before it let go. It tried to bite me again, but I kicked it and got out of there as fast as I could. I was fine, but I lost a nice pair of pants. I am down to 2 pairs. The others are unusable because of wear and tear. If I cant find someone who can sew, Ill let you know so that you can send me some more.

Obedience is the first law of heaven, and upon it comes all of hte blessings.. So if we want to be blessed in a certain way, we need to be obediente to that commandment )D&C 132 5-6). Literally, obedience to everything that God has said will bring a blessing in some way. God  cant say anything in error, so everything He says is the best route to go. If we follow Him, we cant go astray. So we need to be exactly obedient. Obedient in following the council of the prophet, obedient in following the guidance of our Patriarcal blessings, obedient to our leaders, obedient in every way we can. God doesnt give commandments to restrict us. It is to protect us from the dangerous waters of the world. We cant see what danger lies down a path of sin, but God knows exaclty where a path will lead, and since He loves us, He tells us what we need to do. I hope that we all can be more obedient to God and recieve more fully of the blessings that He wants to give us. (Zak and Mayson read PMG, there is nothing more joyful then bringing souls unto Christ, the more prepared you are, the greater experience  the mission will be).

HOLY MOLY!!!!
EXCITING NEWS....
Look who's engaged in less than two weeks after returning home?
She said YES!!!
Hermana Langdon is engaged as of this weekend. I think they are looking at a July or August wedding date. We are so excited for her and her sweetheart Jared who just returned home from his mission in Ecuador five months ago. They are loving speaking Spanish to each other and being reunited after about 2.5 years apart. So grateful for Leah- specifically her dedicated and diligent efforts here in Mision Mexico Pachuca. She will be an outstanding wife and mother. Sending a huge CONGRATULATIONS from everyone here in Mexico!
BTW: He's handsome in that outfit!

Thinking of you all...
Elder Jonathan Ferrin being crazy busy with college life but loving every minute of it. He stated in his message that he is so eternally grateful for the mission and for the things it taught him and how those same habits are serving him well in everyday life and helping him to be successful as he pursues his goals. He sends his love and greetings to all the missionaries in the mission.
We are so proud of you Elder Ferrin. Hugs from Mexico!
Thanks for this picture and sweet message.

The gifts of the mission keep on giving...
Serving a mission brings so many blessings to the families at home.
This is one example of how Hermana Leibano's family became active and after her return home were sealed in the temple together.
What a tender blessing....
We love you Hermana.
