7 June 2015 - GAME ON!

"True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior. The study of the doctrines of the gospel will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior."
- President Boyd K Packer

GAME ON !
We are up to the challenges Elder Arnold has given us-

"What ever you do always give 100% unless you're donating blood!"

I love you! Tenga una excelente semana.

Our investigator, Sergio Reyes. He´s 24 and ready to take on the world! Sergio actually sought out the missionaries and showed up at the capilla one Sunday. It has been a blessing to see his progression to be baptized. He doesn´t have a lot of time left, but he plans on going on a mission! Whoo!

The baptism we had of this incredible woman who has been investigating for 18 years. She contacted the missionary's 18 years ago and her 3 daughters got baptized, served missions and she now took the choice to be baptized. Incredible Day!

Our investigator DANIEL who got baptized! It was work with him but he is a strong member and will be an asset to the members here in Pachuca. The picture below with the great members of the ward!  Even his sister and nephew who aren't members went to support him! Also, he now is telling all his friends about the gospel!

CHOCOMIL for his gift because he is never going back to coffeee-
He just cant go back to the dark side...JUST CANT! so we know Chocomil va a ayudarle

También, Presidente, aquí es una historia increíble que escribí a mi familia!

A few days ago, we went exploring in a part of Xxxxx that neither of us know. We knocked a few doors and found a young kid, who said we could return the next day because his mom would be there. So the next day, we went back and met the mom, Leticia. She let us in and we started talking about her family. I wrote down all of their names and asked if there was anyone else who she'd like to pray for and she told me yes, her mother-in-law, who she said was in bad condition and they didn't know if she would last much longer. So we got down on our knees and offered the blessing. In the prayer, when it came time to pray for her mother-in-law, I did not pray for her health as you might have expected... or as I might have expected! I did not feel that I should pray for her to get better. Rather, I prayed for her to have peace and know that her family loves her and she has left a grand impact on all of her posterity. So that was that. We taught a little lesson and talked about baptism and Leticia said that yes, she would be baptized if she came to know these things are true. But we finished up and my companion said the closing prayer. As she said "amen" Leticia's cell phone rang. She answered and as she was talking, her face changed. When she hung up she said, "What do you know, my mother-in-law just died." .....I am pretty sure I looked like a fool with my mouth hanging wide open! She said, "I think it was your prayer. We know that she is in a better place and not suffering anymore." It was a miracle! As the Bible Dictionary says: "The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that we must ask for in order to obtain." Sometimes that blessing is disguised as death (but let's just remember that death is just the separation of body and spirit for a little while!). Wow, I am so grateful for the power of prayer and the power of being a missionary. Heavenly Father is so aware of us! Let us never forget that He hears and answers every prayer!

SUNDAY
Accompanied Elder/Sister Arnold to the CCM (MTC) in Mexico City. They participated in Sunday services with two branches and then talked to the entire group of missionaries. It was such a privilege to be there and to see the amazing grounds, beautiful and excited missionaries, feel of the sweet spirit, and hear the Arnold's speak with such "passion".

Elder Arnold getting a tour of the CCM property and seeing the work done on the remodel of the cafeteria.

Monday 1 June 2015-  Pachuca Zones / Tulancingo Zone
Tuesday 2 June 2015- Tecamac I / Tecamac II Zones

The Mission Tour wrapped up this week with Elder /Hermana Arnold.
Topics were covered based on the needs the leaders vocalized in the first meeting with Elder Arnold. Sister Arnold taught the sisters in the first 1 1/2 hrs while two Elders were assigned to teach in the Sons of Helaman Meeting (Elders not in the leadership group). They read as a group Alma 53, 56, 57 and then led the discussion on the attributes of the Son's of Helaman and how it applies to them as missionaries and their work here in the mission.
Topics were varied in all three zone conferences with President Egbert and Elder Arnold taking subjects as directed by the Spirit.
- Atonement
- Working with Members
- Teaching with the Spirit
-Vision- Goals-Plans
-Positive Attitude
-Invitations and Effective Commitments
- Inspired Questions
- Teaching with the Scriptures
- Eternal Perspective
-Following the Promptings of the Spirit
- Speaking to Everyone

Thursday Home Improvement Project in Montes1

Elder Tate and Elder Garcia moved into a new house that isn't leaking from every corner of the ceiling. The district leader Elder Duran and Elder Merino came and helped put things away. This house is a huge improvement- though a few things need to be fixed (Kitchen sink hooked up) it is lighter, brighter and smells a whole lot drier! We had pizza for lunch late in the day and then off to work they went.
Love their happy and positive attitudes!

Celebrating my companions one month anniversary in the mission!!!

Presidente Egbert!!!

For our P-day after our laundry was washed and hung to dry and our house spotless-we went looking for some cute dresses in tiangis, but then we went on a lunch date! My companion calls it our "Saturday amiga date."
And the lunch was so yummy I had to have a 'second' plate!
